The opening call was sounded by the OCSD Bugle Corps. The colors are presented. OCFA bagpipers add a colorful and ceremonial flair to the Opening Ceremony. California State Senator Bill Morrow, 38th District, prays over our cities, states, and the nation. Chaplain Keith Olivier makes a powerful impact singing "God Bless the USA". One of the largest American flags in the country is unfurled during the finale of "God Bless the USA". POFF President and Founder, Neil McAllister, welcomes attendees to the 7th Annual Peace Officers and Firefighters Prayer Breakfast. Garden Grove Mayor Bill Dalton gives a warm welcome to the law enforcement, firefighters and the general public in attendance. LaHabra PD Motor Officer Rich Kanger reads a Bible verse from the Old Testament. Montebello Fire Chief Jim Cox brings the New Testament Scripture reading. Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel shares a message on "The Meaning of the Empty Tomb". Orange County Superior Court Judge Frank Firmat brings words of inspiration and a prayer over our Nation's court system. Orange County Sheriff Michael Carona encourages the audience and prays for all law enforcement personnel. Orange County Fire Authority Chief Chip Prather shares an inspirational story and prays for all firefighters and emergency personnel. POFF President and Founder Neil McAllister departs from the printed program to pray for the chiefs of the various law enforecement and fire services. Retired Capt. Ken Masse, Los Angeles Sheriff's Dept., prays for all law enforcement chiefs. Capt. John White (Ret.), Los Angeles Fire Dept., prays for the fire service chiefs. Former Louisiana State Trooper Bobby Smith held the audience's attention as he described how he lost his sight, but gained a vision. Capt. John White extends a compelling invitation to everyone to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord an Savior. Family members of those killed in the line of duty received the framed photos especially prepared for them, as these fallen heroes were honored. Speaker Bobby Smith, with his warm and often humorous Southern hospitality, signed autographs of his books for guests. Many in attendance at the prayer breakfast look forward to renewing acquaintances from the previous year. A majority of those attending have been to several, if not all, of the annual prayer breakfasts. The breakfast is for those in uniform as well as being open to the general public. Seven Marines were among POFF's special guests to the prayer breakfast, having only just returned from duty in Iraq three days before. Vintage fire truck belonging to the City of Garden Grove.
