After 30 years of police work and 8 years of volunteer firefighting, Neil McAllister founded the Peace Officers Firefighters Fellowship (POFF) in 1998 from a desire to promote harmony and spiritual bonding between peace officers and firefighters. Since its inception, POFF has produced annual premier prayer breakfasts in Orange County, California, co-hosted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Orange County Fire Authority. After every event, the POFF team commits to pray for the prayer card requests that are collected. POFF hosted a widely attended prayer vigil entitled “In Honor of Our Heroes” in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks in 2001. The POFF Chaplain program provides First Aid and CISM training to POFF members as well as the general public. Fellowship, adventure and community service are the hallmarks of the POFF Riders, a motorcycle club for peace officers and firefighters.
